Q: Why does porcelain tile cost more than ordinary ceramic tile?
A: No, but highly recommended. Because we want you grout to last without stains or water damage. If water gets to the back surface it doesn’t really matter how it was installed, even down to molds that can create releasing issues.
A: Because you are getting a superior product. Porcelain tile requires the finest natural ingredients and a rigidly controlled manufacturing process that utilizes the most advanced processes and technology.
A: If you put a few drops of water on the grout and they bead up, the sealer is OK. If the water absorbs into the grout, it is time to reseal.
A: Ceramic tile is a term used to describe a wide range of tile as porcelain tile has a specific clay and is fired at a much higher temperature making them stronger and more moisture resistant.
A: When properly installed and maintained a tile floor should last a lifetime.
